“예수님의 적극적인 증인이 되라!”
세례 요한이 사람들에게 예수님이 세상의 빛이라고 했을 때, 그는 예수님에 대해 알고 있는 것을 선포한 것입니다. 그리고 그 일을 기록했던 예수님의 제자 요한은 예수님과의 경험을 이렇게 증언했습니다. “우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라”(요1:14). 바울 사도는 젊은 디모데에게 이 개념을 구체적으로 설명했습니다. “또 네가 많은 증인 앞에서 내게 들은 바를 충성된 사람들에게 부탁하라 그들이 또 다른 사람들을 가르칠 수 있으리라”(딤후2:2). 모든 그리스도인들은 세상이라는 법정에 소환되었습니다. 성경은 우리가 단지 구경꾼이 아니라 적극적인 참가자라고 말합니다. 우리는 예수님의 죽음과 부활에 관한 진리를 증언해야 합니다. 우리의 직장이나 이웃, 교회, 그리고 가족과 친구들 사이에서 우리의 음성이 들려야 합니다. 그들에게 우리 삶 속에 계시는 예수님의 실제에 대해 말하면서 적극적인 증인이 되어야 합니다.
When John the Baptist came to tell people about Jesus, the light of the world, he did so by declaring his knowledge of Jesus. And John the disciple, who recorded the events, testified of his experience with Jesus: “We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth”(John1:14). The apostle Paul would elaborate on this idea as he told young Timothy, “The things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others”(2 Tim.2:2). All Christians have been summoned before the courtroom of the world. The Bible says we are not mere spectators but active participants. We testify to the truth about Jesus’ death and resurrection. Our voices can be heard in our workplace, neighborhood, church, and among our family and friends. We can be active witnesses, telling them about the reality of Jesus in our lives.
