* 당신은 어떻게 그리스도의 빛을 반사합니까? *
우리는 성경에서 예수님을 “사람들의 빛”(요 1:4)이라고 한 것을 봅니다. 세례 요한은 “이 빛에 대해서 증거하여 사람들이 자기를 통해 예수님을 믿게 하도록 왔습니다”(7절).
복음서의 저자는 “그(요한)는 이 빛이 아니요 이 빛에 대하여 증언하러 온 자라”(8절) 고 말합니다. 우리는 세례 요한과 마찬가지로 믿지 않는 세상의 그늘에 사는 사람들에게 그리스도의 빛을 반사해 비추도록 하나님께 선택받았습니다.
우리가 이 역할을 해야 하는 이유는 어떤 이의 말처럼 “믿지 않는 사람들은 그리스도의 강렬한 영광의 빛을 직접 보는 것을 감당할 수 없을 것이기 때문”입니다. “모든 사람을 비추는 참 빛”(9절)이신 예수님과 함께 우리도 증인들로 빛날 수 있습니다.
우리가 예수님을 반사할 때 세상이 놀랄 정도로 그의 영광이 우리를 통해 빛날 수 있기를 바랍니다. 당신은 어떻게 그리스도의 빛을 반사합니까? ‘오, 주님, 믿지 않는 세상의 그늘에 주님의 빛을 비출 수 있도록 도와주소서.’
We see in the Bible that Jesus is called “the light of all mankind” (John1:4). John the Baptist “came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe” (v.7). The gospel writer tells us, “He himself [John] was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light” (v.8). As with John, we’re chosen by God to reflect Christ’s light to those living in the shadows of an unbelieving world. This is our role, as one source says,
“perhaps because unbelievers are not able to bear the full blazing glory of His light firsthand.” With Jesus as “the true light that gives light to everyone” (v.9), we can shine as witnesses. As we reflect Him, may the world be amazed to see His glory shine through us. How do you reflect the light of Christ? ‘O, Lord. Please help me to shine Your light in the shadows of an unbelieving world.’
