“ 자기 성찰을 위해 성령님의 도우심을 구하라! ”
성경을 기록한 사람들은 여러 곳에서 스스로를 천천히 잘 들여다보아 옳지 않은 것, 곧 하나님의 영광을 가리는 것들을 찾아내는 것이 중요하다고 하였습니다. 시편 기자는 “나를 살피사 내 마음을 아시며. 내게 무슨 악한 행위가 있나 보시고”(시139:23-24)라고 기도합니다. 예레미야는 “우리가 스스로 우리의 행위를 조사하고 여호와께로 돌아가자”(애3:40)고 썼습니다. 그리고 바울도 성찬 때의 우리 마음가짐에 대해 말하면서, “각 사람은 자기를 살펴야 합니다”(고전11:28,)라고 말했습니다.
성령님은 우리가 하나님을 기쁘시게 하지 않는 태도나 행동에서 돌아서도록 도와주십니다. 그러므로 오늘 세상으로 나가기 전, 잠시 자기 성찰을 위해 성령님의 도우심을 구함으로써 주님과 교제하며 “주님께로 돌이킬” 수 있도록 합시다. ‘하나님, 저를 살피시고 제 마음을 아셔서, 하나님을 더 많이 알고 더 잘 섬기기 위해 제가 오늘 변해야 할 것들이 있는지 살펴주소서.’
Several times in Scripture, the writers mention the importance of taking a good long look at ourselves to find what’s not right – not God-honoring. The psalmist prayed, “Search me, God, and know my heart See if there is any offensive way in me” (Psa.139:23–24). Jeremiah put it like this: “Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord” (Lam.3:40). And Paul, speaking of our heart condition at the time of communion, said, “Everyone ought to examine themselves”(1Cor.11:28).
The Holy Spirit can help us turn from any attitudes or actions that don’t please God. So before we head out into the world today, let’s stop and seek the Spirit’s help in doing some self-checking so we can “return to the Lord” in fellowship with Him. ‘Search me, O God, and know my heart. See if there are any changes I need to make today as I seek to know You more and serve You better.’
