“하나님을 믿고 신뢰하는 중요함“
모세와 이스라엘 백성들이 광야를 헤맨 후 많은 세월이 지나 바울 사도는 그들이 겪었던 일들에 대해 “저희에게 당한 이런 일이 거울이 되고… 우리의 경계로 기록하였느니라“(고전10:11)고 설명했습니다. 이 이야기들은 우리 자신에 대한 이야기입니다. 그것들은 우리가 삶의 현장에서 하나님의 뜻과 방법을 구하고 살면서 매일매일 겪는 긴장감을 비춰줍니다. 그리고 우리에게 죄악의 무서움, 그리고 어떤 상황 속에서도 그분을 믿고 신뢰하는 것이 중요하다는 것을 가르쳐줍니다. 성경에 나오는 옛 이야기들을 간과 하지 마세요. 하나님이 그 이야기들을 통해 우리에게 가르쳐주시고자 하는 일들에 놀라게 될 것입니다.
Hundreds of years after the fact, the apostle Paul explained that the things that happened to Moses and the Israelites as they wandered through the desert “happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition”(1Cor.10:11). These stories are about us. They mirror the tensions we face daily as we too seek to apply God’s will and ways to the realities of our lives. They teach us of the treachery of sin, and the importance of staying faithful and true to Him regardless of what happens. Don’t ignore the old stories. You might be surprised what God wants to teach you through them.
