“그리스도가 대답이다!”
어떤 사람이 건물 벽에 “그리스도가 대답이다!”라고 날려 쓴 글에 냉소적인 어느 행인이 “질문은 무엇인가?”라고 덧붙였습니다. 불신자들에게 그리스도에 대해 말할 때, 그들의 질문을 듣기도 전에 미리 준비된 일련의 대답을 함으로써 하나님의 영을 지레 앞질러가기가 얼마나 쉬운지 모릅니다. 복음을 전하다가 감옥에 갇힌 바울과 실라는 간수의 마음속 깊은 곳에 영적 의문을 생기게 했습니다. 이 의문은 그들이 간수에게 설교를 해서가 아니라 하나님께 기도하고 찬양함으로써 제기되었습니다. 지진으로 인해 감옥 문이 열리고 죄수들의 사슬이 풀렸을 때 간수는 자살하려고 하였습니다. 그러나 바울과 실라는 그를 위하여 감옥에 남아있기로 작정함으로써 그가 자살하는 것을 막았습니다. 이때 간수는 “선생들아, 내가 어찌하여야 구원을 얻으리이까?”(행16:30)라고 소리쳤습니다. 오늘 날도 성령께서는 사람들의 마음속에 바른 질문을 던지고 예수 그리스도라고 답할 수 있도록 해줍니다.
When someone scrawled the words “Christ is the answer!” on the side of a building. a cynical passerby added these words: “What is the question?” How easy it is to run ahead of God’s Spirit as we talk to unbelievers about Christ, giving pre-packaged answers before we listen to their questions.Paul and Silas, thrown into prison for the gospel’s sake, provoked a deep spiritual question in the heart of their jailer. This question was raised not because they had preached a three-point sermon at him but because they prayed and sang hymns to God.
When an earthquake opened the prison doors and broke their chains, the jailer was about to kill himself. But Paul and Silas stopped him by choosing to stay in prison for his sake. At this he cried out, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” (Acts 16:30). Today, the Spirit will create the right questions in people’s hearts and make them ready for the right answer-Jesus Christ.
