“하나님은 예배하는 자들을 찾으신다!”
11월은 감사의 달이라고 하여 많은 교회들이 이 기간 동안 특별 새벽기도회를 드립니다. 새벽에 하나님과 함께 하고 싶지만, 평소 일찍 일어나는 것이 힘들어서 못하던 성도들이 이 기간에 정말 억지로라도 하나님께 기도해보려고 노력하는 것을 봅니다. 그러나 불행히도 실패하는 많은 경우를 봅니다. 예수님께서 우물가의 여인에게 “아버지께서는 영과 진리로 자기에게 예배하는 자들을 찾으신다” (요4:23)고 말씀하셨습니다. 이것은 하나님 편에서 먼저 시작하셔서 우리 마음에 하나님과 함께 하고 싶어하는 갈망을 넣어주신다는 것입니다.
시편기자는 “내 얼굴을 찾으라” (시27:8)는 하나님의 부르심에 응답하였다고 말합니다. 하나님께서 나와 함께 하고 싶어하신다는 생각이 이제 나로 하여금 하나님의 임재 앞으로 나아오게 합니다. 하나님과 함께 하는 명상의 시간은 의무가 아니라, 나와 함께 시간을 보내기를 열망하시는 하나님 아버지께 대한 응답입니다. 하나님께서 당신을 부르시는 것이 들리십니까?
November is said to be the season of thanksgiving, and many churches hold special early morning prayer services during this period. I see believers who want to be with God in the early morning hours, but who are unable to attend such prayer meetings because they find it difficult to wake up early, really try to pray to God during this period. But unfortunately, we see many cases where it fails. Jesus said to the woman at the well, “The Father is seeking those who worship Him in spirit and truth” (John4:23). This means that God was taking the initiative, putting in our hearts those longings for time with Him.
The psalmist said he responded to the Lord’s call to “seek My face” (Ps. 27:8). It’s the idea of God longing for fellowship with me that now draws me into His presence. My quiet times with God are no longer a duty, but a response to my Father who yearns to spend time with me. Do you hear your Father calling to you?
