“하나님의 사랑”
성경에는 자녀를 깊이 사랑하는 부모로서의 하나님을 아름답게 묘사한 부분이 많이 있습니다. 구약의 호세아 선지자는 분열된 왕국 시대에 북쪽 왕국에 사는 이스라엘 사람들에게 전할 메시지를 받고 그들에게 하나님께 돌아오라고 선포했습니다. 호세아는 하나님을 부드러운 아버지로 묘사하며 이스라엘 사람들에게 하나님의 사랑을 이렇게 상기시켰습니다. “이스라엘이 어렸을 때에 내가 사랑하여”(호 11:1) “젖먹이처럼 들어 올려 볼에 비비기도 하였다”(4절) 이렇게 하나님이 사랑으로 보살피신다는 확실한 약속은 우리에게도 동일하게 적용됩니다. 우리가 한 때 하나님의 사랑을 거부하고 삶의 고통과 괴로움 때문에 힘들 때, 하나님은 우리를 그의 자녀라 부르시고(요일 3:1) 위로의 팔을 내밀어 우리를 받아주십니다. 나의 이름을 부르시는 아버지께 그냥 달려갑시다.
In the Bible, there are many beautiful stories of God as a loving parent, images that invoke God’s deep love for His children. A Prophet of Old Testament, Hosea was given a message to deliver to the Israelites living in the Northern Kingdom during the time of the divided kingdom. He declared them to return to God. Hosea reminded the Israelites of God’s love for them as he pictured God as a gentle Father: “when Israel was a child, I loved him” (11:1) and “to them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek” (v. 4). This same reassuring promise of God’s loving care is true for us. Whether we seek His tender care after a season where we have rejected His love or because of pain and suffering in our lives, He calls us His children (1 John 3:1) and His comforting arms are open to receive us. Let’s just run to the Father who calls my name.
